Packaging is small, delicate or single instruments in sterilization pouches is the most commonly used practice within Sterile Processing Departments (SPD).
At first glance, Medline® sterilization pouches seem comparable to all sterilization pouches. However, Medline offers certain features that provide ease of use and security benefits.
- All pouches have a large flap and lip for easier grip and opening.
- The self-seal style has pre-fold lines for easy and consistent sealing each time.
- Medline pouches (heat seal, self seal and tubing) come with external AND internal indicators pre-printed on the pouch paper. The external indicators are located on the front paper side of the pouch. The internal indicators are located inside the pouch and are clearly visible through the transparent film. Internal indicators serve as a backup or security in case indicator strips are forgotten. This feature helps reduce the confusion created in the OR whenever a pouched instrument is packaged without an indicator strip. This feature also helps reduce the need to flash sterilize.
Also included in this line are Tyvek® pouches for plasma sterilization and dust covers for protection while in storage.
Sterilization Pouches are Paper/Poly Pouches for Use in Steam/Gas Sterilization. Heat and Self Seal pouches are available in box quantities, 200 ea/bx. Simply add a "Z" to the end of the item number. Heat Seal Pouch. 4" x 8" (10cm x 20cm)
